The round brilliant is cut to return more light than any other shape, which is why it has outsold every alternative for more than a century. Four slender prongs hold the stone high and leave its sides open, so light enters from below as well as from above.
It suits every hand and every occasion, and it will look no less right in twenty years than it does today.

An oval cut moissanite engagement ring with a pave band, in solid gold, available from 1 to 5 carats.

An oval carries its weight along the finger rather than across it, so it reads larger than a round stone of the same carat weight. The facets are cut to keep light moving from one end of the stone to the other.
The band is set from shoulder to shoulder with small round brilliant moissanite, bead set by hand so the metal itself holds each stone. It makes the band appear finer and lifts more light into the center stone.
The pave shoulders follow the same line and draw the hand longer still.

The emerald cut is a step cut rather than a brilliant. Long parallel facets return light in broad, slow flashes instead of scattering it, and the wide open top shows the stone exactly as it is. There is nowhere for a flaw to hide, which is why the cut is reserved for clean material.
It is the quietest shape we cut, and the one that reads as the most considered.
